  1. Game is okay, but instruction booklet is necessary, which I like to be able to learn games on my own.

I was hoping that this game would be better – I love Jewel Quest and Mah Jong Quest but this game is just not a good as I hoped.

I bought this one on a whim because I do like Jewel Quest, but really, it’s probably going to be traded for another game. It compares very poorly to Jewel Quest and I honestly don’t see myself playing it.

    My chief complaints are:

    1) The different jewels are very hard to tell apart. Some of them are so slightly different that you have to squint at the screen and even guess at times. Mostly the pinks and oranges – the blues are distinguishable enough.

    2) The sound. I had to turn the sound almost completely off and it was still irritating. When the jewels disappear and the remaining ones ‘clack’ down the speakers produce a sound like static that grates on my nerves. This, alone, would be enough to make me stop playing.

Otherwise, I do admit it plays smoothly and has some nice special features (like the fireball-thing) – there’s nothing wrong with the idea of the game, but it also doesn’t have anything that worthwhile to outweighs those two very, very, very large negatives.

I had lots of fun playing this title. There are 8 levels and it took me about 4 hours total to go through them the 1st time. Each time is supposed to get harder but so far its not very difficult. Compared to Cradle of Rome or Jewel Master Egypt this one is not as challenging (on the first two play throughs anyway). I like the music as well.

For those of us addicted to match 3 type games this is a must have!

A good game but not as captivating as Jewel Master of Egypt, which I completed successfully. I have a ways to go on the 7 Wonders game, so perhaps I’ll become more addicted to it.
