Very chill. I wouldn’t have expected anything less than this from Citizen Cope. Great album.

I am enjoying this LP very much. And for only [...]. CC is a great artist, and I can’t wait to see him live.

I would give it 5 stars…if Cope would come to Chattanooga, Tennessee.
I have seen Cope in concert too many times to count but a few things remain. Thoughtful lyrics, chill beats, and another great cd! Can’t wait to see him in concert in 2010!

Sadly…This album was just a little bit of a let down,

This coming from one of the Biggest Fans of CC borderline obsessive. I know every song from every album by heart.
I was in love with Citizen Cope years before anyone knew who he was….I saw him perform at Center Stage in Central Park just before his first album dropped, and since then I have easily labeled him my favorite Artist creating music.
This album does not have the same “uniqueness” all his other albums have.
Its a lot more mainstream, the beats are very similar to a lot of his previous tracks. I loved how he previously incorporated a wide array of sounds, beats, styles creating complex tracks and this album seems a lot “simpler” without that extra effort and consideration. It kind of sounds like an album that one would expect from an artist that produces what people expect from them.
Still considering, it is Citizen Cope so it is still amazing compared to all the other crap being produced these days.
Getting ready to see him concert for the 5th time…hoping see him perform this album live will change my mind!

First and foremost, The RainWater LP is amazing. If you are a true listener, you will hear something new every time. He has a unique talent for expressing big ideas and everyday people ideas at the same time. Go to his website and read the letter he sent with the release. These words will give you insight into what he’s done to preserve the integrity of his art. He hasn’t tried to fit into a genre, he hasn’t allowed the business part of the industry to drive his choices, he chooses promotion/placement carefully; he does this because he loves it and he has a gift to share. My personal favorites on this album (at this moment) are “I Couldn’t Explain Why” and “Off The Ground” but I love the whole thing, start to finish. Thank you, Clarence!
See him live. He tours like a mad man, so you should be able to see him in the next 12 months, wherever you are. And see him 2 nights in a row, if you can. You will have 2 different experiences because he watches his crowd, adjusts, uses the crowd to enhance the music. Crowds are all ages (from college age to gray hair….and a lot in between). It’s an experience.
